Simon Cowell is joining forces with Will Smith to search the world over for the top DJ, in a new reality TV competition announced yesterday.

Few details were provided about the format of the yet-untitled show, that will be produced jointly by Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and Overbrook Entertainment, the production company run by Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.
They are partnering with Sony Pictures Television, who has not yet announced a broadcast partner.
“This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent,” Pinkett-Smith, 40, said in a statement about the project.
“We have been working on this show for over a year … DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show,” Cowell, 52, added about his latest venture.
The English music executive has created several reality music contests already, including The X Factor and the Got Talent franchise.
He also served as a judge on American Idol for nine seasons.
